My name is Eleanor de Jager, Experienced Teacher, Passionate Playworker and Mother to two beautiful, bright children.
I welcome you to Homegrown Nature Play. It is the space I created for my children and for yours.
Our programs feel like a home away from home - safe, warm and deeply respectful of each child’s whole being.
Rooted in Playwork principles, our space is thoughtfully designed for freedom, discovery and real connection.
We honour children as capable, creative humans with their own stories to tell.
We meet their needs - emotional, physical, and developmental - by listening closely and responding with care.
We protect their time, their autonomy and their right to joy.
Whether you’re looking for weekly programs, casual play opportunities, home-school hubs or excursions, Homegrown is a place where childhood is held with reverence, families are welcomed as collaborators, and the wild grows within.
Homegrown Offerings
Homegrown provides for children with a strong emphasis on nurturing the whole child. A child’s wellbeing is of utmost importance to us.
Playgrow is a fortnightly all ages playgroup for children (most suitable for birth to 12 years) and their parents. A lovely unstructured morning filled with play and connection at our Homegrown Play base.
Evergrow is a full day drop-off service. Our time is spent outdoors. Our days are child-directed and play centred.
Guiding Principles
Children are beautifully, uniquely and wonderfully made.
Time in nature is necessary for a child’s wellbeing.
Learning must be holistic, heart-centred and wholesome.
Child-Led, Unstructured, Adventurous play is honoured and valued.
Children are not products to be measured, but souls to be set free to become who they are made to be.
